Drama in Curriculum Programme
Programme Overview by Act 3 Drama Academy
The focus of the programme is on developing practical techniques
and incorporating interactive and fun activities to promote an active and
independent learning experience as well as to build interest and appreciation for
the English language and literature.
The techniques used to bring the students’ ideas to life include elements of drama such as role play, music, mime and improvisation. These tools will help the students to explore themes, messages and characters of the texts.
The programme also gives the students a head start in developing presentational skills to speak expressively and confidently when addressing an audience.

During the programme, pupils will:
- Use the storyline, characters and themes of the given texts as starting points to explore, discover, respond and reflect.
- Use different stimuli based on the texts for analysis, creative thinking and dramatic work.
- Understand the use of simple Improvisation and how it shapes ideas and frames them in context for dramatization of text.
- Have a head start to understanding what it takes to address an audience.
- Learn how to prepare the voice for making a simple presentation and how to use the voice for expressive verbal communication.
